Luke Daniels back with West Brom: 'He didn't let us down'

The official site has confirmed that loanne keeper Luke Daniels has returned to parent club West Brom.

Daniels: 'I'd like to thank all the Southend fans for their support over the last two months'

S24 felt it was the case last night but it's now been confirmed by the club that goalkeeper Luke Daniels has indeed returned to Premier League side West Brom.   Blues boss Paul Sturrock told southendunited.co.uk: "Luke didn't let us down and he did very, very well. We commited ourselves to him even though our first team goalie was back fit about three weeks ago but that is something you have to do when you take loans."

Daniels turned out 15 times for the Shrimpers keeping 5 clean sheets.

So Glenn Morris will return for the Port Vale home game Saturday, let's hope is confidence hasn't been too affected by being placed on the bench in recent weeks having recovered from his calf injury.

The writing was on the wall when Daniels wrote on Twitter after the Daggers game: 'On my way up to Birmingham, I'd like to thank all the Southend fans for their support over the last two months.'   And thanks to you, some super saves in his time as a Shrimper, that double one at the end of the 3-2 win at Dag & Red was oustanding, we're forget their first, and he practicly won us the home game against Oxford United last November single handed!   Best of luck mate, and thanks.
