Luggy & Luke let loose: 'We showed we can mix it with the big boys in League One'

Both manager and game saving keeper Luke Daniels were quick with some quotes after the goalless cup tie at Deepdale Saturday afternoon that took the game to a replay Tuesday week.

Sturrock: 'Our keeper made good saves but so did theirs'

Hard-thought but just about deserved in the end I believe, Preston missed a spot-kick and that gaint German keeper of the Lillywhite's Thorsten Stuckmann was called into action himself at the end.

Even so, there was no doubt who was the more relieved maanger at the end of the goalless stalemate that saw the two sides have to go at each other all over again at Roots Hall in ten days time.

Sturrock told the Echo: 'I was disappointed by the first half but we were far more solid in the second. Our keeper made good saves but so did theirs.'

And a word on the recalled midfielder JP Kalala who was replaced on 51 minutes by Bilel Mohsni.

He said: 'Jean-Paul Kalala was well off the pace today and he apologised for his performance after the game.'

However, loanee keeper Luke Daniels, thank you West Brom, with a string of great saves, again, has nothing to say sorry about, and picked up another S24 man-of-the-match award for his troubles.

Daniels said: 'I think we deserved draw and we showed we can mix it with the big boys in League One.'

As ever we couldn't keep defender Mark Phillips from his phone, and he was soon tweeting after the game.

Phillips wrote: 'And we keep the unbeaten run going and a nice clean sheet. Thanks to all who travelled.'

But you didn't score Mark!

He stold us on that:'Sorry to all you lot who bet on me to score again....oh well I'm sure you've won enough money so far this season'

I'm sure we have!
