Southend United Paul Sturrock was happy enough to defeat Hereford United last Saturday but knows that repeating that task in the tougher enviroment at Accrington Stanley is a different task altogether. Sturrock: 'We need to continue picking up points'   In what was an overall a great season for Blues boss Paul Sturrock, taking the club into the safe waters of midtable after the summer of disconsent, the rearranged midweek trip to Accrington Stanley and the 3-1 defeat that took place was a downer.   It's never easy taking on the direct style of last season's losing play-off semi-finalists, but have they got the squad to get away with it this time around?   Sturrock told www.southendunited.co.uk: 'It is important to get the points on the board early doors. We got three against Hereford and now we have to go to Accrington and get another three on Saturday. We put in a very poor performance before Accrington last season and we have to do better. They play a difficult system that is hard to handle but we have to come up with our game plan that will win the game. In is our first away game of the season and we have to come up with the winning formula for playing away from home. If you look at our run over the next two months we are playing some of the better teams in League Two so we need to continue picking up points."   And we can't argue with that!   The S24 Preview: www.southendunited-mad.co.uk So where will the Shrimpers finish this season?
