Luggy looking at Dons defender?

A media report has Southend United on the verge of signing Aberdeen defender Rory McArdie, fact or fiction?

Dons defender becoming a Shrimper in January?

According to a report in www.express.co.uk the Shrimpersare interested in signing Aberdeen centre-back Rory McArdie during the next transfer window in the new year.

Another player that has been managed at Sheffield Wednesday by Blues boss Paul Sturrock, the story could make sense, though a striker is the main position the majority of the Shrimpers faithful would like filled.

The central defence of Chris Barker and Mark Phillips has been the cornerstone of the Shrimpers success this season but they can't play in every game, injury and suspension will surely fall at some time, amazing that Mark has had such a long run as it is.

The former Rochdale defender has not been able to establish himself in the SPL side who find themselves only one place and one point of the bottom.

The Express say Luggy tried to grab him last January but with only six months left on his present contract would have a better chance this time around.

We will see.
