Local Millwall media dismiss Harris link with Shrimpers

The South London press have printed a rather superscilious response to the reports linking the Lion scoring legend ending his career at his home town club! Neil Harris is at last becoming a Shrimper; it's all a dream it seems   Well, that's telling us! Young Toby Porter, journalist from that Millwall den of knowledege the South London press, has printed an immediate put down to our story of a few hours ago that Lions all time top scorer Neil Harris was the mystery 'Championship' striker that could be on his way to Roots Hall. Maybe the Blues board were hoping he might be at one time, but that seems more unlikely now.  wrote on www.southlondonpress.co.uk: 'Neil Harris has told Southend chiefs he wants to fight for his place at Millwall - so he won't be joining his home club this summer. The Lions' record goalscorer has been approached to see if he would like to sign for the League Two club. But Harris believes he still has a role to play at The Den, even if he had a frustrating campaign last season, starting 10 games and scoring three goals. Harris, whose family live in Leigh-on-Sea, has been linked with a move to the Shrimpers virtually ever since he signed for Millwall, but has always insisted his priorities lay at The Den.' So it looks as if the club wanted this one around to keep us interested al la january, last summer ect. ect. However, there was something in it, even Mr.Porter accepts that in his first sentence, but it was always a long shot, more likely once he saw what was on offer he ran a mile! Still, let's see what Luggy has to say later. Then again, there's no quote from Neil www.southendunited-mad.co.uk/news/is_neil_harris_of_millwall_having_a_chat_with_the_shrimpers_679971/index.shtml   The rumours start: www.southendunited-mad.co.uk/news/tmnw/ shrimpers_to_reveal_interest_in_ championship_striker_679946/index.shtml   Luggy warned us to be patient: www.southendunited-mad.co.uk/news/tmnw/ sturrock_waits_as_shrimpers_transfer_targets_ go_on_summer_holiday_679115/index.shtml
