The Oldham Athletic boss and his squad are looking forward to an FA Cup glamour tie at Liverpool after his side earned a 1-0 victory over Southend United.

Dickov: 'We've got a great day at Liverpool that everyone can enjoy'

The second-round replay at Boundary Park was decided by Chris Taylor's goal as the Shrimpers were punished for having Bilel Mohsni sent off before half-time.Dickov said: "The club has been reasonably starved of success lately, so for us it's massive to have a third-round game at a big Premier League team. It gives everyone the feelgood factor and sets the place buzzing. It's a fantastic occasion for the players, staff, fans and everybody else. Beforehand I was trying to play down what this game could mean to us, but obviously we all knew what was at stake. You could see the nerves in our performance, but now we've got a great day at Liverpool that everyone can enjoy."

Meanwhile, the players were up for the challenge as well.

Central defender Zander Diamond told www.oldhamathletic.co.uk: "Liverpool is steeped in history and is my England club. To have done the ground tour and go back as a player is magical. To be able to rub shoulders with the cream of Liverpool is going to be magical and I am hoping everybody will have a great day out. It's a day I entend to soak up and enjoy. Emotions are high and we are going to really enjoy this tie. We knew what was at stake before the game, and we have eventually got there. We are going to Anfield and that is all that counts."
