The Bulls of Hereford United & ex-Wolves & MK Dons. Southend United winger Jamel Johnson is back from Bulgaria, and ready to do the business for his new club, starting with the Bulls of Hereford on Saturday.   Johnson: 'I want to make sure we get off to a good start this weekend' Shrimpers new winger Jemal Johnson has returned from his European tour and can't wait until he steps out on the pitch against Hereford United Saturday afternoon at roots Hall and for him, and hopefully for us, a welcome return to English league football.  Johnson told www.echo-news.co.uk: “It was hard for me going over to play in Bulgaria and English football is definitely what it’s all about for me and I’m so pleased to be back here. Footballing wise it did go well in Bulgaria and I helped my team out there qualify to play in Europe but I didn’t want to stay. I’m now happy to be at Southend and I want to make sure we get off to a good start this weekend.” Jemal certainly did enough in the Shrimpers pre-season games to make the faithful believe there could be something in the partnership with fellow wideboy Ryan Hall, though he believes he could do with a match or two more before we see him at 100%. Johnson continued: “We’ve had a lot of games and I probably would’ve liked a couple more but we did well against both Ipswich and Norwich. That has given us confidence and now we want to carry that on. For me personally I hope to start and I want to do well. I want to get goals and make them to ensure we have a good season because we think we can do well this season. It would be nice to prove that by putting on a good performance tomorrow and getting three points.” As we all do JJ, as we all do.
