Hudson returns to Brentford

Southend United will not be offering a deal to Bees winger Kirk Hudson who has not impressed manager Paul Sturrock enough after spending the last four days in training with the club.

Kirk Hudson: Possibily close to becoming another loanee Shrimper

KIRK Hudson has returned to Brentford following his trial at Southend.

The Bees winger spent four days training with the League Two outfit in a bid to secure a loan deal to the Essex boys.

But Shrimpers boss Paul Sturrock has decided not to take the 24-year-old to Roots Hall.

Hudson has made just four substitute appearances for Brentford since his switch from Aldershot Town in 2010.

The former Celtic youngster has had a nightmare spell with injuries at Griffin Park, and was shipped out on loan to AFC Wimbledon last January, only to have his spell at Kingsmeadow cut short with a hip problem.

But Hudson is now back to fitness and looking to get his career back on track.

Brentford winger Kirk Hudson has been training with the Shrimpers this week and according to a report on www.hounslowchronicle.co.uk could be joining the Essex boys in time for Crewe away on Saturday if Blues boss Paul Sturrock likes what he sees.   He could certainly visit the home of his birth as it was up the road from Roots Hall in Rochford!   Formerly with the Shots, what is it with Luggy and Aldershot wideboys after the error that was Louie Soares, Hudson has not had the best of times at Griffin Park, making just three substitute appearances since signing for the League One club last year.   He's already been loaned out once, to AFC Wimbledon as they marched to promotion from the Blue Square Conference during the latter stages of the last campaign, he scored one goal after turning out 14 times for the Dons before he returned to Brentford with a hip problem.   An injury that in the summer seemed would keep him out for a while had Bees boss Uwe Rosler telling the local media at the time:"He has a hip injury and won't be available for several months."   However, an earlier than expected recovery has allowed him to train with Southend until Thursday when we hope Karl is more Ryan Hall than the unfortunate Jemal Johnson, who has had a torrid time since he signed from Lokomotiv Sofia in July and was evn on the bench for the reserves last week.   A loan move for JJ himself would seem to be a decent bet in the next January transfer window to free up the wages for any new signing, though in typical Luggy style he was named on the subs bench this evening against the Daggers in the JPT, unless, that is, striker Harry Crawford leaves first.   Brentford fans discuss him here: www.griffinpark.org/forums/showthread.php?t=85696   & here: www.griffinpark.org/forums/showthread.php?t=92547   Both old threads, nothing on the new one yet, but one Bee did say: 'Maybe they will send us Ryan Hall.'   Sure we will mate!   The Hudson Files   Personal information Full name Kirk Hudson Date of birth 12 December 1986 (1986-12-12) (age 24) Place of birth Rochford, England Height 5 ft 8 in (1.73 m) Playing position Winger, Striker Club information Current club Brentford Number 17 Youth career 2003–2004 Ipswich Town 2004–2005 Celtic Senior career* Years Team Apps† (Gls)† 2005–2006 Bournemouth 1 (0) 2005 → Thurrock (loan)     2006 → Aldershot Town (loan) 12 (2) 2006–2010 Aldershot Town 136 (26) 2006 → Ashford Town (loan) 4 (0) 2010– Brentford 2 (0) 2010–2011 → AFC Wimbledon (loan) 14 (1) * Senior club appearances and goals counted for the domestic league only and correct as of 09:49, 22 May 2011 (UTC).† Appearances (Goals).
