Hill sorry for late postponement

05 February 2009 13:36
The game at Roots Hall looked set to go ahead after Hill inspected the pitch during the day, but it was eventually postponed due to a frozen pitch.[LNB]He told the club's official website: "My apologies go to the spectators who travelled down to Roots Hall on Tuesday afternoon in the hope of seeing a game only to have that hope unfulfilled.[LNB]"It wasn't through want of trying that the game couldn't go ahead and I do trust that they understand the very difficult situation that arose on Tuesday night.[LNB]"In addition, I would like to pass on my thanks to Nigel Adkins and the players for their understanding and assistance too. Nigel's assistance and positive understanding really helped a great deal and is really appreciated.[LNB]"I would also like to extend my thanks once again to the Scunthorpe spectators that worked so tirelessly on Tuesday assisting Southend United clear snow from Roots Hall pitch but to no avail."[LNB][LNB]
