Harris: 'Lino gave Liam offside but he didn't touch the ball'

Barnet FC: Southend United striker Neil Harris is starting to show the form that made him a scoring legend at Millwall, even coming off the bench to grab the third against Barnet last Tuesday, however it was Bilel Mosnhi's controversal second he wanted t   Harris: 'Bilel was onside by about 10 or 15 yards'   It had to be Bilel of course.   After Ryan Hall had given Southend the lead at Underhill Tuesday evening the recalled Bilel Mohsni ghosted in behind a stunned Barnet defender to guide the ball into the back of the net. Easy, 3-0.   Except a linesman's flag is raised for offside, for highlights click on the link below, and an offside is given, a polite chat follows between referee and assistant, and the flag goes down and the Bees players, management and home faithful are very annoyed.   The Blues were 'very aggressive' towards the officials said one report, Bees boss Sanchez talked about a 'turning point' in the match; however, the scorer of the the third and final goal, substitute Neil Harris, has now revealed all, a twat lino gave the wrong decision in the first place, now who would have guessed that!   Harris told www.echo-news.co.uk: "Bilel Mohsni was among those to come back in to the team and he was again involved in the main talking point of the match when he scored our second goal. To begin with it was originally ruled out for offside but I think common sense prevailed in the end because straight away on the bench we all said it was a legitimate goal. The linesman gave offside against Liam Dickinson but he didn’t touch the ball and Bilel was onside by about 10 or 15 yards."   So there you have it Bees fans, there was no conspiracy against the team second from bottom, just a good old fashioned cock-up by a linesman, happens every week, though admittingly not with such serious consequences.   Bomber even felt some sympathy for the North London club, because he's a gent.   Harris said: "I can understand Barnet’s anger and frustration but in the cold light of day I think they will realise that it was the correct decision. As players we always want the officials to communicate with each other so that was good to see. And if a decision like that had gone against us then I think we would’ve held our hands up and said it was correct."   Maybe, certainly like to see how Bilel would have reacted if it had happened to us, but as Neil made clear, the Bees had a great chance to take the lead as early as the third minute.   Harris concluded: "Barnet had a great chance early on to open the scoring when they were awarded a penalty. But Izale McLeod skied it over the bar and that’s the way it seems to go for you when you’re down towards the bottom. After that we ran out 3-0 winners and it certainly gives the manager a few selection headaches for the match at Macclesfield on Saturday."   No argument about that, one of Luggy's more interesting team selections.   See what side S24 picks here: www.southendunited-mad.co.uk   Flags go down as well as up - Match Highlights: www.southendunited-mad.co.uk
