Hall hopes lucky No.4 helps him to hit home: 'I want to have 10 goals before Christmas'

There were some raised eyebrows when Southend United winger Ryan Hall choose the No.4 shirt in the new squad number list, however the truth is now out, it's his lucky number! Hall: 'Four has always been my lucky number, hopefully wearing it will help us be successful' Shrimpers star winger Ryan Hall has traded in his number 12 shirt he wore last season for the number four, a number that seemed starnge for the the exciting young talent who applies his trade on the wing. Howver, it seems that particular number has been rather lucky for him, and who are we to deny him any chance of continuing his great form from the last campaign, in fact he wants to hit the old onion bag ten times by the time we see the new year in! Hall told www.echo-news.co.uk: “Four has always been my lucky number and hopefully wearing it next season will help us be successful. My birthday is on the fourth, so is my dad’s and my house number is also number four so it plays a big part in my life. It might be a strange number for someone who plays in my position to wear but I’m pleased to have got it. I want it to help me carry on from where I left off last season and I want to have 10 goals before Christmas because that’s the target I’ve set myself.” And I think the Shrimpers faithful would more than accept that, and if Barry Corr and Bomber Harris get close to matching that we're be pretty close to the top of League Two!
