Ryan Hall showed why Paul Sturrock handed him a new contract with two goals in Southend's 4-0 win over Bradford. The winger, who penned a new two-year deal in midweek, was the star of the show while Barry Corr and Kane Ferdinand were also on target. "Ryan Hall, in particular, was fantastic," said Shrimpers boss Sturrock. "He's got everything you need but sometimes he thinks he's better than he actually is. "He worked hard and was involved in all of the goals to show why we offered him an extended contract and I'm looking forward to carrying on working with him." Sturrock added: "We want to keep this improved form up now and we're aiming to finish in the top half of the table because that would be a nice stepping stone for next season."
