Crewe Alexandra: After limping off during the JPT win over Dagenham & Redbridge Southend United midfielder Anthony Grant was doubtful for the weekend trip to Crewe Alexandra, but the club are hopeful he can make it!

Snoop Dog may make the trip to face the Railwaymen after all!

Shrimpers midfielder Anthony Grant was last seen wearing a protective boot over his right foot outside the Daggers Victoria Road where his side had just completed a 3-1 win in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, playing the last 38 minutes without him and being replaced by goalscorer Neil Harris.

That seemed to be it for Saturday's trip to Crewe Alexandra where the club hope to pick up a fifth successive league victory and remain top of fourth tier table.

However, it seems the ankle injury may not be as bad as first thought and Grant will be able to travel to Gresty Road after all in what will be a great boost to Blues boss Paul Sturrock and the Shrimpers travelling faithful.

Meanwhile, midfielder Lee Sawyer should turn out for the Blues Two's against Stevenage Tuesday afternoon at Roots Halll as he continues his recovery from a groin problem.

While last season's top scorer Barry Corr, yet to be seen in a Shrimpers shirt all season, continues to make 'good progress' from a knee injury; we hope so, good luck Baz.
