Gilbert frustrated by absence

Southend defender Peter Gilbert has admitted his anger at his current suspension has increased thanks to the weather. The left-back should be completing his three-match ban for a red card against Stevenage this weekend but a run of postponed games means he will now be out until Boxing Day at the earliest. He said: "It's been a bit of a nightmare because my ban should be ending on Saturday but it hasn't actually started yet. "It's not a nice feeling training all week when you don't have a game at the end of it and I'm still quite angry about the whole situation as I don't think it should have been a red card. "It was very harsh and I'm frustrated about it - especially as now the weather means I will be out of action even longer."
