Francis: 'I have a year left and would be happy to stay'Shrimpers full back Simon Francis has spoken about the atmosphere in the dressing room after the home loss to the Seagulls left his side seven points from safety with just get three games left. Francis told Blues Player: "It was dreadful in the dressing room, in fact it was the worst I've ever known. We were all disappointed when we got relegated from the Championship but that was different because we played some massive clubs. But there isn't much to choose between anyone in League One and we're just gutted it now looks like we're going to go down." He accepted that the selling of top scorer Lee Barnard was a 'massive blow' but now the team has to focus on the remaining games for the sake of the their own pride and their futures at Roots Hall.Francis continued: "We don't want to get hammered in the three games we have left. We want to show the fans we do care and we need to be mentally strong. People are playing for contracts too either here or elsewhere but I have a year left and would be happy to stay. But with what's going on off the field I don't know what's going to happen."
