Former Southend United defender Lewis Hunt could face old club for Bradford City
Blues former right back Lewis Hunt has followed manger Peter Taylor from Wycombe to Bradford, but, bless him, will always have a soft spot for the Shrimpers! Lewis; we liked him at S24, and so does Spud obviouslyHaving been released from League Two rivals Wycombe Wanderers at the end of last season, defender Lewis Hunt, right-back or centre-half, tried his luck in returning to Roots Hall in a trail for then new boss paul Sturrock, no go Lewis. However, on July 30th Bantams boss Spud Taylor, and Hunt's boss at the Chairboys, gave him a two-week trail and decided that was good enough to be offered a one year deal.Lewis was rested against Preston in the Carling Cup for the Bantams so must be in with a chance of a game agaisnt the team he saw back-to-back promotions with Friday evening at Valley Parade.He spoke to the local paper about the five years and 180 games Lewis spent in south-east Essex and, of course, there current problems.Hunt told : "They've been through the mill recently. There have been a lot of changes and only one or two members of staff and players are still there from last season. But hopefully they have hit rock bottom and will start to build themselves back up again. I had some really good times there and the club will always be close to my heart. It's sad to see what has happened but I'm sure they will turn the corner soon. They've got a new team so they will all be extra keen to impress. But it's a game that we're confident of winning."
