This was backed up by a tweet from Echo journalist Chris Phillips: 'Just been told midfielder Jake Thomson may figure as a trialist for Blues in friendlies at Dartford and Wakering this week.' While the player added himself: 'southend, manager wants too see my work rate...', to which norwood_31 replied 'jake thompson - work rate, you have no work rate.' A good friend obviously, but something Blues boss Paul Sturrock will want to see if this relationship is going to continue. There were one or other names banded about, let's see if they appear tomorrow or Tuesday's game at Great Wakering. (Could be worth a trip, details for Dartford link below, the game the day after featured Monday.) One that certainly caught the eye was former Spurs youngster Rohan Ricketts, who has been all over Europe lately and looked short of fitness, no word on Luggy being impressed enough there, so as with all the other names mentioned we will wait and see, but a report from Dartford on site as soon as we get back from the match.
