Former Aldershot Town winger Louise Soares on returning with Southend United

Blues winger Louie Soares returned to his former club Aldershot for the first time Saturday afternoon, and felt it went rather well, other than losing that is! Soares in his Aldershot days: 'Soares told www.theshots.co.uk: "It was nice to return here today and great to see some of the lads, they gave me a lot of banter in the tunnel before the game! It was all in good spirits though and the supporters are always good here [at Aldershot] so the only disappointing thing from my point of view was the result. I said earlier in the week that I didn't know what sort of reception I would get when I came back and it was a fairly quiet one so I was happy with that." And after the game Louie feels that both his former and present side will be challenging for promotion by the season end. Soares continued: "I enjoyed my time at Aldershot and I was here for quite a few years but I've got a new challenge now with Southend and I'm enjoying myself there. I can see both us and Aldershot doing well in the league this season, we're both passing sides who like to play football so it would be nice to see both the clubs up there at the end of the season and I send my best wishes to everyone here and thank them for their support while I was at the club."
