Dramatic stuff, as with only five minutes left the Southend United star midfielder Kane Ferdinand was sent on to win the game for the young Irish. Well, maybe to just make sure the time rung down, but a cap is a cap! Kane Ferdinand: Another Irish call-up has taken him to sunny Romania Teenager Kane Ferdinad received the call to join the Republic of Ireland once again for the Under-19 European Championships which sadly, well maybe not for him, has taken him out of the Shrimpers pre-season schedule. Anyway, the tournament takes place in Romania and the Republic of Ireland kicked off their campaign on the opening day against Greece, before further group games against the Czech Republic and, a tough one here, hosts Romania. And, as it happens, the young lad grabbed a cap, oh OK, just to do a holding job with five minutes to go with the Irish 2-1 up, but what the hell, well done Kane, another cap in the pocket, and I'm sure your agent is adding another zero to what she thinks your worth. Good luck mate.
