Face-off at the Hall: 'Never sure what you're going to get from Kev, world class or dog and duck'

There's been a history of the Shrimpers and Chairboys sharing players over the past few seasons and two should be facing off against each other at Roots Hall Saturday afternoon. Betsy: 'Wycombe is a club I know well and it's always gone well for me here'Yes, the former Shrimpers wideboy Kevin Betsy obviously like it in leafy Buckinghamshire as he's in the second spell at the club and has scored six goals in all competitions for the season, second only behind their top scorer Scott Rendell who has nine, but they include four spot-kicks. He accepts that his time in south-east Essex could have gone better.Betsy told www.echo-news.co.uk: "Things go for you at some clubs and not at others and I don't think the Southend fans ever saw the best of me. I did finish at the top of the assists list and chipped in with a few goals which is all you can ask for as a wide-man. But it was an up and down season and I didn't always play the way I knew I could. Despite that, I really enjoyed playing for Steve Tilson and Paul Brush and it was a shame things didn't work out differently there." Now 32 the former Bristol City winger, who was Wycombe's best performer the last time they were at Southend in a 1-1 draw, is enjoying being involved in the Chairboys push for promotion. Betsy continued: "Wycombe is a club I know well and it's always gone well for me here. I have a manager who really believes in me and we've got a good chance of going up this season. We beat a good Bury side last Saturday so we're facing Southend in a confident frame of mind and it's obviously a game I'm looking forward to." Meanwhile, Shrimpers midfielder Anthont Grant, having been passed fit for the League Two clash, is also looking forward to facing the club he had a loan spell with during the 2006/07 season. He played 49 appearances while a Chairboy but will be looking to be in a Shrimpers side that beats the Bucks team for the first time at Roots Hall.Grant also spoke to the Echo: "I learnt a lot when I was with Wycombe and it was a good year I had there. I was only 19 or 20 at the time and I got to play a lot of games which helped me improve my game but of course I hope to beat them tomorrow." Grant figured alongside Kevin Betsy during that loan spell at Wycombe and then teamed up again with the winger at Southend. He is therefore looking forward to facing him tomorrow but does not know what to expect from the winger. Granty explained: "You're never really too sure what you're going to get from Kev. He is either going to be world class or dog and duck but it will be great to catch up with him again because he's a good lad."
