Posh and former Morecambe and Rochdale striker Rene Howe played an hour for the Shrimpers against Eastbourne Borough last weekend, but was back in his present club's colours to score in their friendly against Bedford Town. Rene Howe in his Lincoln days; hopefully he's stopped eating all the piesThe Shrimpers management were taking a close interest in striker Rene Howe down in West Sussex, where he played for 64 minutes before being replaced by Harry Crawford. However, he didn't turn out against West Ham on Tuesday, as he was back in Peterborough colours, it was just a Posh X1, and against Southern League Premier side Bedford Town, but they did win 3-0, and Rene got one of the goals.Widdrington told www.southendunited.co.uk earlier this week: "Peterborough were good enough to let us have a look at Rene and it's something we will obviously discuss now we have seen him up close and personal. We are obviously aware of him and he does have a good goalscoring record."Maybe not good enough though to join the Sturrock revolution! If your bored and want to read a report on said friendly, (and it was a shock to see barry Fry playing for Bedford, thought the fat boy was past it), go here:www.bedfordshire-news.co.uk/Sport/Bedford-Town-FC/Rene-returns-to-make-old-team-feel-Green.htmThe Howe FilesPersonal informationFull nameJermain Rene HoweDate of birth22 October 1986 (1986-10-22) (age 23)Place of birthBedford, EnglandHeight6 ft 0 in (1.83 m)Playing positionStrikerClub informationCurrent clubPeterborough UnitedSenior career*YearsTeamApps†(Gls)†2003-2006Bedford Town81(31)2006-2007Kettering Town40(25)2007-Peterborough United15(1)2008→ Rochdale (loan)20(9)2008-2009→ Morecambe (loan)37(10)2009→ Lincoln City (loan)17(5)2010→ Gillingham (loan)18(2)* Senior club appearances and goals counted for the domestic league only and correct as of 17:30, 9 May 2010 (UTC).† Appearances (Goals).(Player information supplied by Wikipedia, for the full article go here:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rene_Howe)
