New signing, the returning midfielder Lee Sawyer, is back as a Blue and determined to get right behind Blues boss Paul Sturrock and show a new found maturity to the fans. Sawyer: 21-year old Lee Sawyer is back, again, and message boards are full of concerns about the lad's abilty to allow his obvious talents on a football pitch not to be affected by his temperament off it.And, honest guv, he's promising that he's going to show us all that the boy's grown up, which seeing as he's been a Dad for a couple of years would be good to see.Sawyer told www.southendunited.co.uk: "I've had a little look around again today and it doesn't seem one day ago that I was last here. Fot the past year all I have been focused on is getting back into the Football League so I can't stress how delighted I am to achieve that, especially with Southend, that means a lot"Ahh, it breaks you up, and as for the attitude, forget it; did you hear that?Frigging forget it, Lee's OK.
