Easton set for FA Cup recall

Southend manager Paul Sturrock could have captain Craig Easton back for the FA Cup trip to Macclesfield. Easton has been sidelined since the middle of September after picking up a groin injury in the 2-1 defeat by Northampton and could be recalled to the Shrimpers midfield. Sturrock will be without two loan players for the first-round tie at Moss Rose after both Michael Timlin and Waide Fairhurst finished their spells at Roots Hall. Timlin has been recalled by Swindon, while Fairhurst has been sent back to Doncaster. Southend are also without a trio of defenders. Chris Barker is nursing a calf injury picked up in the draw with Rotherham, Mark Phillips has a groin injury and Peter Gilbert is suspended. Adam Bouzid is definitely out as he continues his recovery from surgery to his skull which may keep him out for at least two months.
