Double Shrimpers Delight in League Two Team of the Week
Southend United's talented teen Kane Ferdinand has been chosen again along with striker Liam Dickinson for the starting eleven in the fourth tier's best side selected over all the weekend games. In-form Ferdy; maybe added an extra zero in Big Sam's chequebook! Let's face it, when you are top of the your league you expect the odd player to be given the nod, especially in the week's best team chosen by the Press Association, and after last Saturday, we have two! Following on from Ryan Hall, Peter Gilbert (three weeks), Sean Clohessy (twice), Mark Phillips and Michael Timlin (just the once); Liam Dickinson with one goal, and midfielder Kane Ferdinand with a double, both in the Shrimpers 3-2 win over the Daggers, has them joining our ever present right-back in representing Southend United a couple of times in the npower League Two Team of the Week. Congrats to struggling Barnet after their great 2-0 win at Bristol Rovers, the Shrimpers next opponents, and are rewarded with a brace of players of their own! Meanwhile, the creepies Tyrone Barnett also grabbed a double at the weekend to take his tally now in to double figure at 10.
