Southend United striker Liam Dickinson had his first full game for the club and didn't like the taste of defeat after the home side had most of the chances but ended up losing to Leyton Orient on penalties. Dickinson: 'I struck it well but it was at a good height for the keeper' Sometimes you just have to take it on the chin, however hard the blow, but for Shrimpers striker Liam Dickinson playing his first full competitive match for the club the 4-3 penalty defeat in the Carling Cup to old rivals Leyton Orient was too much to bare. Especially as he was one of the two Southend players to miss his spot-kick at the end, along with Jean-Paul Kalala. Dickinson told www.echo-news.co.uk: “I was confident about taking the penalty and I struck it well but it was at a good height for the keeper to save and I'm gutted about it. I don't think we deserved to lose either because I felt we battered them and played them off the park for most of the match so it's very disappointing for us.” The Penalty Shoot-Out Penalty taken by Liam Dickinson saved by Lee Butcher.
