It just gets worse! The booking that Southend United striker Liam Dickinson picked up in the abandoned Boxing Day game at Aldershot Town will count so he will miss the New Years' Eve game against AFC

No New Years' Eve celebrations for Dickinson at the Cherry Red Records Stadium   If the loss of a possible three points was not bad enough, the loss of our second best scorer for the Saturday League Two match away to AFC Wimbledon is just the icing on the cake. Bloody Aldershot.   Though striker Liam Dickinson was booked for his part in the 39th minute handbags incident that saw Darren Jones see red he reacted angrily to a heavy challenge by Liam, at least he'll get some time off as well, many felt both decisions would be forgotten as the game was abandoned at half-time due to floodlight failure.   Think again, they stand, so that's five yellows for the former Stockport hitman!   However, the one's already picked up are not wiped out!   So along with Liam will be left-back Peter Gilbert, good news for Luke Prosser, and our favourite French Tunisian Bilel Mohsni, maybe not so good for veteran centre-back Graham Coughlan, thoiugh he did only play half a game, they will all be sitting in the Dons stands on New Years' Eve and can discuss where they are going to party after the game.   One presumes Bilel and Pete will be going to different venues though!   Moreover, Gilbert has history for this, Cheltenham's floodlight problems last season saw the ex-Cobblers full-back out for what seemed an age before he returned to the side, someone pay the Dons lecky bill please!   And just to make clear, any yellow card amnesty for those players with less than five cautions takes place after this weekend's fixtures, though it looks as if everyone's OK: www.football-league.co.uk (not updated with Boxing Day games yet.)   So, Bomber Harris, may get a start, or Ryan Hall on his own up front, or maybe even the return of Blair!   All would give the giant Dons defence a bit of a shock, pass it around for this one lads!   Bilel vote - last day: www.southendunited-mad.co.uk   S24 is looking to build up it's editorial team, why not join us at the Shrimpers fastest growing unofficial site with up to and over 2,000 hits a day currently this month?   If you have something to say on the present exciting times at Southend United or an idea for a new poll, then click on the link with your article or contact details and we will get in touch, just a few lines will do: www.southendunited-mad.co.uk
