Cup progress for Swindon Town leads to Roots Hall postponement

09 January 2012 10:33
Southend United's home match with the Wiltshire Robins on Saturday, January 28th has been called off.

The Shrimpers were down to face Paolo Di Canio's in-form Swindon at Roots Hall on the last Saturday of the month, but due to their 2-1 win over the Premiership side Wigan at the weekend the date of our fixture now clashes with the fourth round of the FA Cup where the Robins will face either Leicester City or Notts. Forest, and sadly that means our clash is postponed.

Tickets for the original fixture will still be valid for the rearranged date which will probably be a Tuesday night in March where we already face the creepies, and then Cheltenham on the last Friday.

By April Fools Day we should really know where we stand!

As the next two Saturday games are away, throw in Aldershot on Tuesday, January 31st, and then the long trip to Plymouth away, the next time the home faithful will see the lads is against Rotherham on Friday, February 10th; blimey Ron will be counting the days to some money comes in!
