Coughlan looking forward to Sturrock reunion

Veteran defender Graham Coughlan is hoping he can strike up another successful alliance with Southend boss Paul Sturrock. The 35-year-old, who has penned a one-year deal at Roots Hall, enjoyed working with Sturrock during his time with Plymouth and Sheffield Wednesday. "I don't know what it is but I seem to respond to the Paul Sturrock way of doing things," Coughlan told the Echo. "I can't put my finger on why it is but he's a loveable character who has also been a very successful manager. "He has had the Midas touch at all the clubs he's been at and hopefully now he will at Southend because that's what I want to be a part of it."
