Coughlan concern for Sturrock

Southend manager Paul Sturrock is sweating on the fitness of Graham Coughlan ahead of the game against Accrington. Coughlan missed the Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat to Charlton in midweek but Sturrock is hoping the defender comes through a late fitness test. Saturday's game is likely to come too soon for Chris Barker, who is pinpointing next week as a more realistic target after struggling with a calf injury. Mark Phillips is ruled out with a groin injury and is unsure how long he will be occupying the sidelines for after scans failed to show the extent of the injury. On-loan QPR striker Antonio German was dropped in midweek after arriving for the Charlton game late and is likely to be warming the bench again while Luke Prosser will keep his place in defence after impressing in his last two outings.
