Brady to leave Southend United

Shrimpers CEO Tara Brady has quit the club according to a report in the Echo.

THE Echo understands Tara Brady has quit as Southend United’s chief executive.

Speculation was rife at Roots Hall last night after Brady was not in attendance for a disappointing 4-1 defeat to Swindon Town.

And it is now believed Brady has decided to depart after a conflict with the club’s ownership.

Brady has helped transform Blues both on and off the pitch since his arrival in December 2010.

Under his guidance, the club’s losses have been cut by a third and the team has risen from being a point above the relegation zone to be challenging for promotion towards the top of the table.

However, Brady has become less involved in recent weeks and failed to attend a fans forum held at Roots Hall last week.

In an exclusive Echo interview a fortnight ago he also revealed he was not enjoying his role at Blues as much as he expected.

And a club statement is now expected to confirm Brady's departure in the next 24 hours.
