Boss waits for clearance

Southend manager Paul Sturrock is hopeful summer signings Bilel Mohsni and Adam Bouzid will receive international clearance in time to be considered for the trip to Aldershot. Centre-back Mohsni and midfielder Bouzid have been unable to feature for the Blues since arriving at the club but could get the go-ahead from the French and Moroccan federations respectively. The club`s only injury concern is left-back Peter Gilbert, who looks set to sit out once again with an ankle injury sustained against Derby during pre-season. Fellow defender Sean Clohessy returns after missing Tuesday`s Carling Cup triumph over Bristol City with a groin problem. Southend will look to build on their cup triumph by securing their first league win of the season after last weekend`s 1-1 draw at home to Stockport.
