Blues back on top: 'Massive thanks to all who travelled, was a massive help to get the win'

29 October 2011 18:04
Macclesfield town, Crawley town, Oxford United. Lots of 'massives' from the Southend United centre-back Mark Phillips who joins a happy band of Essex boys travelling back down the M6 with three points in the bag and a return to the top of League Two.

Hall: 'I want 10 (goals) before Christmas now'

He was wearing the pink shirt before the game for being the worst trainer of the week, but by the end of the match left winger today Ryan Hall had proved he may not be the sharpest when he has to do a 100 sprints in ren minutes but once the whistle blows in a league game, there's no better at the moment in the bottom tier, providing and scoring!

As usual Echoman Chris Phillips was lurking with intent after the Shrimpers 2-0 win at Macclesfield Town and picked up the following quotes.

Hall: 'The lads all moan at me for shooting too much but if you don't shoot you don't score. I want 10 before Christmas now'

While the other scorer and adding to his growing reputation, is fat Fry getting that chequebook ready, midfielder Kane Ferdinand put his serious face on.

Ferdy said: 'The lads all moan at me for shooting too much but if you don't shoot you don't score. I want 10 before Christmas now.'

Sure Luggy will be out with something soon, but as ever centre-back Mark Phillips, he nearly headed home a sixth of the season at the Moss Rose, was tweeting away thanking the fans, especially the ones in fancy dress, it is halloween weekend, before the players had even got on the coach home!

Phillips: 'Massive thanks to all who travelled was a massive help to get the 3 points....if u were @ the game tweet me now.....Back to top of the league' (@TheMarkPhillips)

Oh yes, forgotten about that; well, maybe not.

'We are top of the league, we are top of the league!'
