Southend United striker Blair Sturrock will be returning to the County Ground after a couple of years away joined by his Dad who was the Robins boss for a time. Sturrock Jnr.: 'Hopefully be fresher by the end of the week'  Shrimpers striker Blair Sturrock will be making a return journey to the County Ground at the weekend when he faces another of his old clubs along with his old man. The son of Luggy returned for his first start of the season in the 2-2 draw with Northampton after getting over his ankle problem, and turned out for the Blues Two's Tuesday afternoon who lost 1-0 to Luton Town at Roots Hall (report below.) Sturrock told “I think the plan was for me to play for the reserves to get a bit fitter having been out for so long and hopefully it will do me good for the Swindon game on Saturday. I feel quite tired at the moment but will hopefully be fresher by the end of the week because it would be nice to be involved against Swindon.” Let's face it as the only fit forward at the moment the odds are on a start! Anyway, The just turned 30-year-old Blair scoried nine goals in 57 appearances over two-and-a-half years in a Swindon shirt over a couple of years and was known as a bit of a super sub, and knows whoever is in charge at the Wiltshire based club, it's always a tough place to go and pick up the points. Sturrock said: “I enjoyed it at Swindon and it was a good time because we won promotion. There are a few weird and wonderful things going on there at the moment as well so it should be an interesting afternoon. However, it will also be a difficult one because they’re a good team. They will be in good spirits after beating Rotherham but we played well against Northampton, despite drawing, and will need to do so again on Saturday.” Believed Blair worked well with Mohsni, better than a lot thought, could work out OK again.
