Blair before Crewe Alexandra: 'Need to get a run of wins going if we are to make the play-offs'

More of Imps of Lincoln City after their 2-1 win against Southend United. Striker Balair Sturrock speaks out! No mention of Steve Tilson! Sturrock: 'Imps winner hit the bar and bounced in, it could've gone anywhere'Even the most loyal of the Shrimpers faithful is believing now the play-offs are starting to look beyond the team after a run of four games and two points and just a couple of wins from eight.Son of Luggy himself though, one Blair Sturrock, is quite rightly refusing to throw in the towel, however unrealistic it may be.So, a quick look at the table, 12th place, seven points off the pace on 48, with 11 games left.Last season, eventually promoted Dagenham & Redbridge sneaked in on 72 points, a mere 24 more then, that's 8 wins, blimey easy, we can even afford to lose three, but just to be on the safe side, better start with a victory at Gresty Road Tuesday evening! Not easy against the Railwaymen of Crewe Alexandra, three days after they beat runaway leaders Chesterfield 2-0 at their place. Sturrock told www.echo-news.co.uk: "It will be a hard game there but hopefully the breaks will go our way and we can get three points. There are still plenty of games to go but we need to get a run of wins going if we are to make the play-offs." Fair enough, and we look forward to a side without left-back Peter Gilbert and midfielder skipper Craig Easton acheiving just that. However, Blair just couldn't keep from bringing up the Lincoln game, a great shame, but at least it wasn't as bad as anything Screech could come up with.It was all down to bad luck you see, after Blair had brought the Shrimpers back in the game with a fine equaliser at Sincil Bank Saturday before they eventually lost 2-1.Sturrock explained: "We just didn't get that little bit of luck you need to win a game. The breaks went their way and it just seemed fate for their manager that they were going to win the game. That's what it stunk of to me because the second goal hit the bar and bounced in when it really could've gone anywhere. It's disappointing but I think it was just one of those unlucky games for us." Enough already. Jeez, I wish Tilly had gone abroad! This game would have been forgotten by now.To the present, and the trip up the M6, let's hope Luggy's depleted squad can bring some smiles back to the Shrimpers faithful.
