Bilel Mohsni: 'Didn't know if I'd stay a Shrimper after what happened'

Northampton Town Shrewsbury Town Southend United fans think the world of Bilel Mohsni as he does of them and his manager Paul Sturrock.

Mohsni: 'He told me to calm down before I’d even come on'

There's not a lot left you can say about Bilel Mohsni, but we keep trying!

Only ten minutes on at the Sixfields Saturday and our match reporter makes him man of the match, then again he did score two cracking headers that turned a game that may still have gone away from the Shrimpers into a bit of a hammering by the end, that's what he can do!

And after all his troubles, is it finally getting through to our favourite French Tunisian what he has to do to become a real footy force beyond League Two.

Mohsni told www.echo-news.co.uk: “I didn’t know if I would be staying with the club after what happened. I knew people were angry with me for what I did in a big, big game and I’m still sorry for my behaviour. I appreciate being given another chance here and everyone is happy again so hopefully the team can keep on doing well.I want to do well too because I’m happy to be here and want to help us win the league and get promotion.”

We certainly saw what Blues boss Paul Sturrock means to Bilel with his run towards the veteran Scot after scoring his second.

Mohsni confirmed: “The manager is great towards me and has always helped me here. He told me to calm down before I’d even come on but everything I do here is for him now and I want to play well for him even more than I want to do it for myself. That’s why I ran towards him when I scored.”

Luggy has also said on BBC Essex that it's all about how you use Bilel, and an impact sub still seems the best way at the moment.
