Before Accrington Stanley v Southend United and after Aldershot Town defender Bilel Mohsni made a surprisng return to the Shrimpers starting line-up against Aldershot Town Saturday, and half wish he hadn't! Mohsni: 'Hopefully the manager will stick by me'Well, EEB made him the S24 man-of-the-match, mainly for sheer effort and his entertainment value in such a dull game, but centre-back Bilel Mohsni, who made such a welcome if surprising return in the goalless draw with the Shots Saturday afternoon, believed he played poorly, and even picked up a broken nose for his troubles. Mohsni told www.echo-news.co.uk: "I thought I played very poorly and we really needed all three points. I did slightly better in the second half but my performance wasn't good and I'm disappointed. I broke my nose as well when their striker elbowed me but it's not a problem to play with. It didn't really cause me too much pain and I just hope the gaffer gives me more opportunities to play so I can do better." Bilel started training the previous Thursday after a couple of months out so Blues boss Paul Sturrock certainly took a chance, to mixed reviews from the faithful, happy as they were to see Bilel back.Mohsni continued: "I didn't expect to play and thought that maybe I might be on the bench or not involved at all. I didn't find out until Friday that I was in the team and I'm pleased the manager gave me a chance, but I don't think I took it because I wasn't at my best. Hopefully the manager will stick by me and I can do better to help the team win. The more I play the better I should be because my fitness will be better and we now want to go on and pick up as many points as we can." If Bilel can stand up straight we're fairly sure he'll be stepping out at the Fraser Eagle Stadium Tuesday evening!Problems with noses were catching after Aldershot as Harry needed stitches:www.southendunited-mad.co.uk/news/tmnw/coleman_be_a_long_hard_slog_now_but_these_are_possibly_the_biggest_six_days_in_my_football_career_664516/index.shtmlThe S24 Preview:www.southendunited-mad.co.uk/roll/ed61/accrington_stanley_v_southend_united_664444/index.shtmlRenewing your season card for 2011/12?www.southendunited-mad.co.uk/interactive/voting_polls.asp
