Barrett optimistic on injury
The 29-year-old sustained the injury after challenging Ipswich goalkeeper Richard Wright in the Shrimpers' 2-0 pre-season friendly defeat and will miss his club's fixture against Dagenham on Saturday.
Nevertheless, Barrett optimistically told the club's official website: "At the moment I am confident of being fit for the league game with Huddersfield.
"My knee is still a little bit sore and stiff but there isn't anything majorly wrong with it.
"It's not ideal to miss a week or so of training but I've had a good few weeks training behind me and I'm sure it won't be too much of a problem."
