Barrett has victory in mind

Southend skipper Adam Barrett is targeting an upset when Southend visit local rivals Colchester on Monday. The Shrimpers are currently languishing in mid-table in League One, while the Us are flying high in fourth, but Barrett is confident of picking something up. "I've been involved in a few of these derbies now and I love them, so I'm looking forward to the latest game and it would be superb to go there and cause an upset," he told the Echo. "It won't be easy because Colchester are having a good season and the pitch there isn't the best right now. "It doesn't have any grass in some areas but we're going there in pursuit of three points and in good spirits after our good late fightback against Swindon last weekend secured what could be a valuable point for the club."
