Banishing those November Blues: 'Have to keep playing well or I'll lose my place in the team'

03 November 2011 23:44
Even the most confident Southend United supporter can't escape the fact that results in the eleventh month of the year have been, well, crap!

Hall: 'Keep on working as hard as we have been to get a good result'   Two wins out of the last 22 games played in November, a total of 15 points from 66, and not a win in this month in 2011, bugger all.   Statistics not to warm the cockles of the most upbeat of the Shrimpers faithful, but this time we've won nine out of the last ten games with the other one drawn, we top the League Two table with a subs bench that holds players who could walk into most other sides in the divison.   What can go wrong this year?   Fourth place Oxford United for starters. They are not just going to turn up and roll over, and in form wideboy come inside forward Ryan Hall, (where will Luggy place him on Saturday?), knows if the essex boys keep doing what's made them so successful over the last couple of months, the results will speak for themselves, whatever the month at the top of the calendar.   Hall told www.echo-news.co.uk: “Things like that don’t really bother me because it’s all in the past and we’re confident of carrying on the good run we’re on at the moment. You just have to get on with things and keep on working as hard as we have been to get a good result. If we do that then we have a good chance of picking up points and then also improving our record of results in November.”   Joint top scorer Ryan's shoot on sight policy might scare his teamamtes a touch but are doing wonders for the club's goal difference and knows one poor game can lead to a return to 'splinter city' as Luggy would put it.    Hall said: “I’m pleased with how I’m playing at the moment and my confidence is really high which helps. I don’t think it’s the best form of my career just yet but I’m feeling good. I also know I have to keep on playing well because otherwise I might lose my place in the team again and that’s really something which is keeping all of us on our toes.”   And another Ryan special opening the scoring at the weekend, which would be the third match in a row if he does it, would go down very nicely.   Who is the best Shrimpers boss of the last 30 years?: www.southendunited-mad.co.uk    50k hits & more, join us at S24: www.southendunited-mad.co.uk    The Hall Files   Personal information Full name Ryan Marcus L.
