Bailey after Charlton Athletic v Shrimpers

Blues boss Steve Tilson has upset Addicks captain Nicky Bailey for suggesting that his reaction during the red card incident in Friday's clash at Roots Hall was not a complete shock. Bailey: 'What Steve Tilson said was a joke' Charlton skipper Nicky Bailey was annoyed at comments his former manager Steve Tilson made after the Shrimpers 2-1 loss at Roots Hall Friday evening. This is what Tilly said: "With the sending off, we know what Nicky Bailey is about; he's diving and rolling around on the pitch and that says it all. It's not the first time he's done it and it's a pretty regular thing with Nicky."Fair enough, Bailey has got history; but the Addicks skipper was not going to let it lie, or in this instance, roll around.Bailey spoke to www.skysports.com: "What Steve Tilson said was a joke, and laughable. I still have many friends at Southend and just believe that Tilson was disappointed with the result, so someone had to take the flack. At my previous clubs Sutton, Barnet, Southend and current club Charlton it is fair to say that I have only ever given 110 per cent at all times and will continue to do so."There's no such thing as 110% Nicky, but if there was I'm not sure it includes cheating, and I wouldn't be sure of the friends situation, certainly the 'many' bit.Anyway, having dug his hole, the ginger one was determined to bury himself in it. Bailey continued: "I know the Southend fans were truly annoyed about the way I went, but I was transfer listed. I had become a big asset at the club and they took the decision to sell me, and they made decent money from me. I know that Tilson was unsure about me as a player anyway and if it wasn't for the then chief scout and first-team coach Dean Austin, players like Lee Barnard and myself may never have been at the club anyway."Ohh, bitchy. I would presume that's what scouts are for, to recommend players to managers. Also, when will Bailey, and Parkinson, realise it was what he said the day before the opening game of the 2009/10 season against Peterborough on Sky Sports that annoyed the Shrimpers faithful, not that he went.Even so, this extraordinary rant has not mentioned once his 'over-rection' to what ever Christophe was meant to have done to him. In fact, he doesn't talk about the incident at all. Very strange.
