The Blues marksman, 25, sustained the injury during the 1-1 draw with Leyton Orient back in January, but after missing the latter half of last season he is now back in the frame for the club's pre-season matches, which start on Friday July 10. He told Southend's official website: "It's great to be back out there every day with the rest of the lads after being out for so long. "I'm obviously still having the odd pain here and there because it's been a while since I've been training every day, but I'm pleased with how it's going." Training has so far gone well for the Blues squad and the introduction of ball work earlier than expected has also broken a psychological barrier for Revell after he was on the end of an accidental knock. "Adam Barrett gave it a bit of a kick and, after my initial scream, I've come through that fine," he continued. "It was probably what I needed in fairness and I'm feeling good about things."
