Wotte not satisfied with a point

Poland international Saganowski matched strikes from Jordi Gomez and substitute Gorka Pintado to ensure honours remained even, but the 2-2 draw left Saints still in the Championship relegation mire.[LNB]It could have been far worse for the home side after defender Lee Molyneux needlessly clattered into Gomez after 53 minutes to earn himself a second yellow card.[LNB]Wotte said: "I am pleased we fought our way back into the game against a team like Swansea, who are one of the best in the division at the moment, but we want to be about three points at St Mary's.[LNB]"We need home wins to get ourselves up the table and at the start of the game I expected us to get the victory but it was not to be.[LNB]"Marek took his goals very well, the first he perhaps took too much time and I was shouting 'shoot' at him from the touchline but the second he was much quicker and it was a great finish.[LNB]"I'm delighted to have the opportunity to work with these boys and they have showed me they have the spirit to get out of this, we just need some more points on the board."[LNB]Early proceedings were dominated by supporter protests outside the ground in frustration at how the board has run the club in the last 12 months.[LNB]Once the game started, however, the focus switched firmly to matters on the pitch.[LNB]Saganowski fired Saints into an early lead after robbing Garry Monk on the edge of the penalty area. He beat goalkeeper Dorus de Vries twice before coolly slotting his finish into the bottom right-hand corner.[LNB]Swansea equalised thanks to the muscular figure of Jason Scotland, who held off two defenders before playing Gomez into space.[LNB]The Spaniard collected Scotland's pass before sending a scintillating drive into the bottom right-hand corner, which left Kelvin Davis with no chance.[LNB]The Welsh side gained a one-man advantage with Molyneux's naive dismissal and soon went a goal to the good.[LNB]Manager Roberto Martinez flung on Pintado just after the hour mark and within three minutes the Spaniard tapped home after Davis spilled Alan Tate's long-range strike.[LNB]It could have got ugly for Southampton but they showed impressive fight and, in the 77th minute, Andrew Surman's fine ball found Saganowski, who delicately lifted his finish over de Vries with the Dutchman stranded in no-man's land.[LNB]Martinez said: "We should have won the game but if you had told me at the start of the season we would be coming to places like Southampton and ending up disappointed with a point I perhaps would not have believed you."[LNB]Swansea captain Monk admitted his side's point felt like a defeat.[LNB]"We came here and expected to win but we did not play well enough individually and collectively to collect the points," he said.[LNB]"The performance in the second half was much better because we did not match Southampton in the first.[LNB]"Southampton are scrapping to stay in this league and there were some physical tackles that we did not adapt to until the second half.[LNB]"The important thing is we are still 14 games unbeaten but it did not feel like that going into the dressing room after the game."[LNB][LNB]
