Scotland recall for Fox

Southampton defender Danny Fox is in line for his first Scotland cap in almost three years after he was named in Craig Levein's squad for next week's friendly against Australia at Easter Road.

Fox, 26, picked up his only cap to date in a 3-0 defeat to Wales during his brief stint at Celtic but looks set to add to that as Rangers left-back Lee Wallace misses out.

Striker Kenny Miller was out of contention after his recent move to MLS side Vancouver White Caps and, with Steven Fletcher's exile continuing, there is likely to be a second cap for Huddersfield forward Jordan Rhodes - who has been attracting the attention of the likes of Blackburn of late.

Noticeably, Celtic duo Charlie Mulgrew and James Forrest, as well as Hearts defender Andy Webster, are the only three players included who currently ply their trade in Scotland.

Scotland squad to face Australia in a friendly at Easter Road, Edinburgh, on August 15:

Allan McGregor (Besiktas), Matt Gilks (Blackpool), David Marshall (Cardiff), Alan Hutton (Aston Villa), Phil Bardsley (Sunderland), Christophe Berra (Wolves), Gary Caldwell (Wigan), Danny Fox (Southampton), Grant Hanley (Blackburn), Russell Martin (Norwich), Charlie Mulgrew (Celtic), Andy Webster (Hearts), Charlie Adam (Liverpool),

Barry Bannan (Aston Villa), Don Cowie (Cardiff), Graham Dorrans (West Brom), James Forrest (Celtic), Shaun Maloney (Wigan), James Morrison (West Brom), Robert Snodgrass (Norwich), Matt Phillips (Blackpool), Jamie Mackie (QPR), Steven Naismith (Everton), Jordan Rhodes (Huddersfield).
