Southampton boss George Burley still hopes to tie up the permanent signing of loanee Marek Saganowski for next season.
The Polish striker has scored ten goals in 13 appearances for the Saints since his loan switch from Troyes in January and Burley is keen to start talks with the 28-year-old as soon as possible.
"We have the option to keep Marek who has done extremely well for us since he's been here," he told the club's official website.
"We're very keen to keep him, but we have to wait and see what happens at the end of the season because there are so many different permutations."
