Senegal international Papa Waigo N'Diaye has agreed a season-long loan switch to Southampton.
Saints boss Alan Pardew, who has snapped up the 25-year old from Serie A side Fiorentina, has the option of making the transfer permanent at the end of the current campaign.
N'Diaye has spent the last seven years in Italy, gaining experience with Verona, Cesena and Genoa before moving to Fiorentina 18 months ago.
Pardew told the club's official website: "We wanted another creative player and he comes highly recommended.
"He's a quick, creative forward player who will help us score more goals and I can't wait to see him in a Saints shirt."
