Saints pounce for Pericard

Southampton have completed the loan signing of Stoke City striker Vincent Pericard until the end of the season. The 25-year-old has found first-team opportunities at the Britannia Stadium extremely limited this season, failing to start a game since November. Pericard initially moved to England in 2002 when he signed for Portsmouth and scored ten goals in 24 starts for the south coast side. After loan spells with Sheffield United and Plymouth Argyle, he joined the Potters in the summer of 2006, scoring three times in 21 starts and 16 substitute appearances for Tony Pulis' side.
