Saints await Euell injury news

Southampton are anxiously awaiting further news on a shoulder injury suffered by Jason Euell in a reserve team game.

Euell, 31, aggravated an injury he first sustained over a decade ago in the first half of a second string game against Bristol City earlier in the week.

"If a further operation is deemed necessary, Euell could be looking at approximately six months out of action," read a club statement.

"But Saints are hoping he could be back in half that time if there's no need to go under the knife."

The former Jamaica international made 41 appearances last term during his first season at St Mary's.
