Saints v Terriers clash postponed
The pitch at St Mary's is currently frozen and the stadium's surrounding areas are treacherous in places, and with no prospect of the temperature rising by the weekend the decision to call the game off was taken on Thursday morning.[LNB]A club spokesman said: "Delaying any decision is merely putting off the inevitable and would cause inconvenience to many people and companies.[LNB]"This is our ninth season at St Mary's and this is the first game in that time that we have had to call a match off due to a frozen pitch.[LNB]"The club has not taken this decision lightly and if there was any chance of playing the fixture then we would be doing our best to do so right up until kick-off on Saturday."[LNB][LNB]
