Saints missing duo

Morgan Schneiderlin and Wayne Thomas will be missing from the Southampton squad which hosts Carlisle. Midfielder Scneiderlin serves the second game of the four-match suspension which has ended his season unless Saints finish in the play-offs. Defender Thomas is making good progress from a calf injury but is not ready to be risked. Veteran full-back Graeme Murty is the only other injury absentee following ankle surgery. Boss Alan Pardew could make changes following the disappointing goalless draw against Oldham on Tuesday night, and he has plenty of options. Paul Wotton replaced Schneiderlin in midweek but was withdrawn at half-time in favour of Lloyd James, and he could start against a Carlisle side who were beaten by Saints 4-1 in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final last month.
