Saints duo offered fresh terms

Following Saints' relegation to League One at the start of the month, boss Mark Wotte admitted it was unlikely the out-of-contract pair would be offered new deals due to the situation the troubled club found themselves in. But that stance has now changed and, despite both players being free to talk to other clubs, offers are in place on reduced wages in the hope they will stay on and help the south-coast outfit back into the Championship. Wotte told Southampton's official website: "We have spoken to Jason Euell and Bradley Wright-Phillips and offered them less money of course, but we think they could do well for us in League One. "However, they have their own things to think about and can sign for anyone on a free, but they are also willing to wait to see what happens here. That shows me they like the club and don't want to leave on the back of relegation and they want to do a better job for us next season. "I think they recognise this is a great club, not just because of St Mary's and the pitch but because of the fans as well. They were massive for us in the last couple of weeks and were so supportive of us. We want to do well for them next season."
